A new season is dawning upon us, which means that we need to start thinking about what beauty trends are going to take the world by storm.

With the fashion world's most highly anticipated week(s) ever (aka Fashion Week), we're given a taste of what's to come for the new season. We carefully look at the model's skin, which is perfectly prepped and primed for the fancy catwalk they're about to strut down. Backstage beauty experts are being interviewed every which way about how to achieve the new season look and what products are essential in doing so. Here at Fragrance Direct, we wanted to give you an insight into how you can achieve the 'bare faced makeup' look which has been circulating around the media and amongst beauty fans worldwide. Be prepared to take a step back from your usual makeup routine and adopt the new found freshness of the bare faced makeup.

This new beauty trend for A/W 2013 ran in conjunction with the ever so fashionable designer ensembles which had their debut at fashion week. Not wanting to take anything away from the highly desired clothing pieces, the bare faced makeup look was designed to show a more natural and healthier looking you. Basically, your skin should be naked!

If you're like the girls in the Fragrance Direct office, the thought of having a 'naked' face is horrifying. What about our pimples? What about those freckles we've worked so hard to cover all these years? Well ladies, it's time to put the foundation down. Just kidding! Suprisingly, and thankfully, you can still use all your usual makeup products to achieve the bare faced look. The trick is, you need to put in the beauty effort to achieve an effortless makeup look! Are you with me?

The first steps you need to take are to make sure your makeup base, aka your skin, is well prepared. With the fashionable winter coats and 'must have' accessories that flock in during Winter, the cold, harsh winds and below zero temperatures also arrive, sending your skin into a frenzy! Harsh weather conditions and environmental factors can quickly dry your skin out which ultimately affects the way your makeup blends into your face.

Decleor Aroma Cleanse Milk

In the morning, gently cleanse your skin with Decleor Aroma Cleanse Essential Cleansing Milk which is suitable for all skin types. This will soften and smooth your skin, clearing away any unwanted oil and dirt.

Burt's Bees

You can further enhance this product by using an exfoliator, like this Burt's Bees Deep Pore Scrub Peach and Willowbark. So not only are you revealing a new layer to your skin but you're allowing it to smell peachy and fresh at the same time.

Revlon 24 hour cream

Finish the routine with a good moisturiser which is essentially going to set your skin up for the rest of the day. Revlon's 24 Hour Cream is a moisturiser which takes your skin from day to night, packing it full with essential ingredients that will create the perfect base for your bare face makeup look.

In terms of your makeup base, which is usually your foundation, it's now time to try a tinted moisturiser. Tinted moisturizers were a big craze which landed back in 2011. This somewhat controversial product was largely avoided by beauty consumers. It has less coverage than a foundation, so it won't cover those bad breakouts, but it has so many more rewarding qualities for your skin. It helps to soothe and smooth out your skin tone and will give your skin a healthy and natural looking 'glow' which is essential for a bare faced beauty look. And those horrible spots we mentioned before? ' Don't worry, we'll get to the concealer in a minute.

Witch tinted moisturiser

The Witch Anti Blemish Tinted Moisturiser works well because of its light reflecting qualities which leave your skin looking fresh and youthful while fighting spots and blemishes. 2 in 1 products are our favourites here at Fragrance Direct and this tinted moisturiser helps to control shine while providing all day moistursation to the skin.

Revlon Age Defying Powder

If you do have a bit of excess oil or shine on your face, dust a translucent powder, like the Revlon Age Defying Advantage Translucent Powder, gently over your face, only on the areas that need it. Remember ' this look is all about looking natural, so we don't want the face to be 'too' polished.

Maybelline concealer

For those nasty spots that just won't seem to go away, try the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer. This gel-based formula diffuses light so that it illuminates the skin when it's applied which is perfect for achieving the bare faced makeup look. At this stage, you're well on your way to having that dream looking skin!

NYC Eyeshadow

For the eyes, opt for a neutral shades, like this NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow Pallette in the shade 'The Best Of Broadway'. Don't pack the shadow on too heavy! The trick is to apply it all over the lid, stopping just below the browbone.

Speaking of brows ' let them go wild! Ok, so those few unnecessary hairs have to go, but try not to fill them in with anything. The more natural, the better!

Maybelline Lash

Apply a thin coat of Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara Brown to your upper lashes to achieve a wide and bright eye that will leave you looking fresh and awake. Instead of your usual black mascara, opt for this brown shade which will enhance the lovely long lashes that you have already.

Elizabeth Arden Blush

For the blusher, try a cream blush as they effortlessly blend into the skin, giving the 'flushed cheek' illusion. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush is the perfect product for achieving the 'dare to bare' makeup look. It applies effortlessly and evenly blends into the skin so that you can enjoy an all day, natural looking cheek colour.

Decleor lip balm

Your lips are the next and final thing on the list! It's always good to prep them before you apply any kind of colour product so try the Decleor Aroma Solutions Nourishing Lipbalm. With a soft texture that will salvage your lips from dryness and flakiness, this Decleor lip product is adequately prime your lips for the rest of the day.

Bourjois Une Lip

Although the bare faced makeup look, you don't have to use any kind of lip colour but, for those of you who love to have one to hand in your makeup bag, we couldn't resist including one in our list. The Bourjois Une Casual Matt Colour Lipstick in the shade M 05 is a natural lip colour which isn't too vibrant and eyecatching, but adds a little touch of colour to the lips.
