A big trend for A/W 2013 is the matching nails and lips combo. Matchmaking has made its comeback and I'm not talking about dating. Lips and nails are having an affair and it's about time we caught them out!

Start looking at duos in a whole new light because everything is about to start appearing in twos. But are you rating or slating this revamped beauty trend? Although you may think matching your lips and your nails is somewhat outdated, this classic trend has transformed back into a perfect pair.

Some of our favourite brands are releasing the perfect lips and nails combos so that you can easily combine your favourite colours and co-ordinate your look. Classic shades of red are making a comeback to create a strong vintage look while subtle shades of pink can add a touch of glamour to your nails and lips. Below are a few of the shades that we think make a perfect couple!

Barbie Pink

No matter what the season, pink is a shade that instantly adds a touch of femininity to your look. Pink works well with so many different skin tones that it's considered the touch stone of lipsticks. This Constance Carroll lipstick in the shade 'Sexy Pink' matches perfectly with this OPI nail polish in the colour 'If You Moust, You Moust', to give you a classic yet feminine beauty combination.

Berry Nice

If there was ever a shade that was more A/W, then this is it. The berry lip shade is a great colour for the evenings but that doesn't mean it can't be worn during the day. This Pupa Brilliant Lipcolour in the shade '04' is a gorgeous tone of purple that you can build up through application. Start off light during the day and transform your look from day to night by adding a few extra layers of this sumptuous colour. Better yet, match it with your nails by applying Rimmel's Lycra Pro nail polish in the shade 'Chic Cherry'.

The Clash

Clashing nails and lips can earn major cool points by contrasting and complimenting each other at the same time. Two of the most unlikely colours, that you think will never work, actually come together to create something eye-catching. This OPI nail lacquer in the shade 'A Roll In The Hague' is an intense shade of orange that may seem a little frightening at first, but when those dark winter months roll in, you'll be crying for a pop of colour every day. Pair this shade with Rimmel's Apocalips lip lacquer in the shade '102'. This is bright shade of pink that is going to clash perfectly with your orange nails.

What are your thoughts on mixing or matching your nails? Is this a trend you'll be trying? Let us know by leaving a comment below!
