I started with Yardley's English Lavender about 50 years ago... It was English Lavender. A fragrance still present in their soap (be it made in Germany !!!) but somewhat overridden or at least altered by the addition of a ridiculous number of other fragrances... How could on recommend this historic Eau de Toilette ???

I wanted a perfume that smelled like lavender with undertones and this does not, It smells like all the different ingredients at ones with a sweet after smell - I like the after scent. Some days I wear it, mostly I don't because both me and my sister thinks it smells like old lady at first... And the shipping took a little over a month..

I wonder if this is the exact same product originally produced by Yardley. It's lacking something but I cannot pinpoint what. I haven't seen this product in the shops for years so was delighted to have found it online. The initial burst of fragrance is very similar to the one I used to buy many years ago but it quickly pales out and leaves an 'earthy' smell in your nostrils - it's not spot on exactly right as I remember it. Would not buy again.
