Fragrance Direct have teamed up with Stephanie Toms creator of Cocochic and Beauty Talk Daily to bring you a new YouTube Series. Don't miss our second instalment a tutorial for a messy hair braid, perfect for Autumn!

Ever wanted to create the perfect messy braid but not sure where to start? We've got you covered. In just a few short minutes Stephanie transforms her wet locks into a simple, yet chic plait that's suitable for both day and night wear.

To begin, start by cleansing the hair with the Macadamia Rejuvenating Shampoo, £14.95 (a double cleanse is best) and add moisture to the hair using the Macadamia Moisturising Rinse, £11.50. Towel dry and follow with the Montibel-lo HD Thermic Heat Protecting Spray, £4.99 to keep those ends covered!

Brush through with a brush - Stephanie's favourite is The "Wet" Brush, £8.99 - and section the hair into four sections before continuing to blow dry. Sectioning will not only make the drying process a lot quicker, but it will also help to add volume to the hair.

Next, apply Bed Head's Sugar Dust, £6.99 to the roots of the hair to add extra volume and texture. Massage it through to ensure all traces are gone, then part the hair to a side of your choice. If you like, you could also tease your hair to add even more thickness.

One you're happy with the texture of your hair, clip up the front section that we'll be curling later. The proceed to plait the hair. Left, right, left, right! Tease the plait with a comb (or your fingers) to ensure it looks a little less put-together, and follow with a light spray of ID Strong Hairspray, £8.99.

Now, unclip the hair and section it into around three pieces. Spray with a bit more heat spray and start curling each section with the Babyliss Curling Wand, £19.99. Add more hairspray, leave to set and then light brush out the curls for a more natural effect.

Got any stray bits of hair? Curl them! It'll add to the messy look. Finish with yet more hairspray (you'll want to make sure it lasts all day) and you're set!
