Jean Bousquet created the Cacharel fashion line in 1962, taking its name from the garganey ducks in the Camargue resort in Southern France. An appearance on the front cover of Vogue a year later launched Cacharel and its perfume to international success.
The line's first and most successful fragrance, Anais Anais, was launched with the help of L'Oreal in 1978. Cacharel’s fragrance portfolio also includes Scarlett Eau de Toilette, Noa, Amor Amor and Lou Lou.
