Karl Otto Lagerfeld was born in Hamburg, Germany in September 1933, to a German mother and Russian father. He moved to Paris in 1953 to pursue his dream career in fashion, and after coming second to Yves Saint-Laurent in a coat designing competition, he became an apprentice at Pierre Balmain fashion house. He went on to work as a freelance designer before launching his own label in 1984, which produces a range of high-end mens and womens clothing, as well as fragrances including Sun Moon and Stars, Photo and the latest range of Kapsule unisex perfumes. The Karl Lagerfeld collection at Fragrance Direct includes eau de toilette sprays, aftershaves, shower gels and body lotions.
