Tommy Hilfiger

Born in 1951 in Elmira, New York, as a teenager Hilfiger would travel to New York City to buy jeans and bell-bottom pants which he then took back to Elmira to customise and eventually sell to his peers. In 1984 he started Tommy Hilfiger Inc which went public in 1992, introducing his signature menswear collection. By 2004 the company had revenues in excess of $1.8 billion and a range of fragrances including Freedom, T man, Tommy, Tommy Girl, True Star and Tommy Jeans.
