Goldwell was established by 27 year old buisiness man named Hans Erich Dotter. It began with the idea of giving people a lotion which meant they could have lasting shape to their hairstyle. Initially it was known as "Goldwell Ideal", this simple name soon became the company name that would soon become the well known brand name int he international hairdressing trade.
