Diesel

Diesel founder Renzo Rosso was born in the Italian village of Brugine in 1955, and was raised in simple conditions as part of a farming family. Renzo began studying Textile Manufacturing in 1970, producing a pair of bell bottomed jeans using his mothers sewing machine aged just 15. He experimented with different designs of jeans, selling them to his friends at school. He worked at clothing manufacturer Moltex, mentored by future business partner Adriano Goldschmied, with whom he launched the Diesel fashion brand in 1978. Diesel was established with the aim of producing luxury fashion garments for the young adult market, and has since moved into producing a range of Diesel perfumes, aftershaves and toiletries.
