New York cosmetics giant Estee Lauder launched Clinique at Saks Fifth Avenue in 1968. The brand was promoted as the world's first skincare line for those with sensitive skin, as all their products are fragrance-free and allergy tested. Soon the brand expanded its collection to include cosmetics and fragrances. Clinique's first fragrance, Aromatics Elixir eau de parfum, was introduced in 1975, but the brand's best-selling perfume is Happy, which launched over 20 years later in 1997.
