The French phrase for “like boys”, Comme des Garcons is a Japanese fashion label founded by Rei Kawakubo in Tokyo in 1969. The company grew over the 70s, and in 1981 the brand held its first fashion show in Paris, which caused controversy as much of the collection used black and distressed fabrics. Like the clothing line, Comme des Garcons’ fragrances are known for their unconventional notes, which include flash of metal, sand dunes, burnt rubber and flaming rock. The signature fragrance was launched in 1994, with the brand’s first “anti-perfume” Odeur 53 following four years later. The Commes des Garcons product range includes fragrances, body cleansing products, scented candles and other accessories.
