In 1907, a young French chemist called Eugene Schueller developed an original hair dye formula which he named “Aureole”. He began producing a range of hair care products and sold them to hairdressers across Paris. In 1909 Schueller registered his small company under the name “Safe Hair Dye Company of France”, which later became known as L’Oreal. Today, the L’Oreal group is the largest beauty and cosmetics corporation in the world, with over 500 subsidiary companies covering all corners of the beauty industry, as well as their own range of beauty products. The L’Oreal collection includes make-up, hair care and body cleansing products, from mineral foundations and eye shadows to hair styling puttys and creams.
