Houbigant is one of the world’s oldest perfume brands, founded in the late 18th Century by Jean-Francois Houbigant in Paris, France. The brand originally sold perfumes, gloves and bridal bouquets, dealing with such important clients as Queen Marie-Antoinette, Queen Victoria, and a number of French emperors. Indeed, legend has it that when Marie Antoinette was attempting to flee the French revolutionaries, she was foiled by the scent of her Houbigant perfume; only royalty could afford such a luxurious fragrance. Houbigant still retails to this day, and now includes the fragrances Duc De Vervins, Quelques Fleurs, and Quelques Fleurs Royale.
