Hard Candy

Hard Candy was founded in America in 1995 by sisters Dineh and Pooneh Mohajer, who grew up in the wealthy Detroit suburb of Bloomfield Hills. The company’s first product was a baby blue nail polish, mixed by Dineh, named Sky. The brand shot to instant fame in America when it was worn by Hollywood actress Alicia Silverstone on the TV show Late Night with David Letterman; when asked about her fingernails, she replied, “It’s Sky by Hard Candy”. Today the Hard Candy brand also includes lip glosses, eye shadows, eye liners and foundations.
