Givenchy

Founded by Hubert de Givenchy in 1952, it is the second biggest division of LVMH after Dior. John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Julien McDonald and Ozwald Boateng have all been designers for the range over the years since Givenchy's retirement in 1995. Hubert de Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn created together "Givenchy Style" where French elegance meets American glamour. Indeed Givenchy's first fragrance "L’Interdit" was a tribute to Hepburn. Givenchy fragrances convey a variety of emotions, expressed through a number of different creations. Ysatis, launched in 1984 then Amarige in 1991, and Organza, in 1996, successfully interpreted the particular atmosphere of their eras. Famous famillies to have worn Givenchy include the Guinnesses, Kennedy's and Grimaldi's.
